In a world dominated by mass production, more and more often we look for something that has soul.
Choosing between chain-store jewelry and a niche designer's work is like the dilemma: fast food or fine dining? At first glance the products may look similar — but the devil is in the details, the ethics, and the process.

The model is wearing the Reckless earrings, the Hot Mess earrings, the Morning After ring, and the No Apologies ring.
Fast Jewelry — why the low price has a high cost
The term "fast-food jewelry" didn't appear out of nowhere. Products made in hundreds of thousands of pieces in huge Asian factories have one goal: to be cheap and turn over fast. Unfortunately that often happens at the cost of:
The environment: a huge carbon footprint and wastage of raw materials.
Durability: thin gold-plated coatings that wear off after a few wears.
Uniqueness: you wear the same thing as millions of others around the world.
Investing in niche jewelry, you choose an object that has a story and is one of just a dozen or a few dozen pieces in the world.
What's behind the price of designer jewelry? (Behind the artist's work)
When you buy a ring or necklace at MARAI, you're not only paying for the metal. You're paying for time, passion and precision. Here's what really shapes the final cost:
1. Design and 3D prototyping
Before the finished product exists, the designer spends dozens of hours on innovative 3D designs and prints prototypes in specialist resin or wax. The stage of finding the perfect proportions you won't find in mass production.
2. Craft and the work of human hands
Unlike machines in factories, our jewelry is built by experienced goldsmiths. Every element is hand-polished, and stones are set by qualified specialists (setters). That guarantees the detail you see is finished to perfection.

3. Noble materials and certification
Stones: we don't use random minerals. We work only with high-grade silver. Selecting the right pieces is a process that takes weeks.
Premium electroplating: we use thick layers of gold, rhodium or ruthenium plating, so silver oxidises more slowly and keeps its shine for years.
4. Transparency and branding
The price also includes the surroundings: eco-friendly packaging, photo shoots that capture the character of the jewelry, and customer service that helps you, for example, when your ring gets stuck on a swollen finger.

The model is wearing: the Lust & Trust necklace, the No Boys Allowed with Diastema ring, the Bonfire Secrets earrings.
Buying designer jewelry is more than a transaction. It's a contribution to the development of art and craft. There's nothing more satisfying than looking at your ring and knowing it was made by a person who put their heart into it — so you could feel special.
