Why Does Everyone Think About Tenerife in Winter?

In recent years the term #WinterEscape has stopped being just a tagline from a travel agency catalogue. It's become a survival strategy.

Tenerife in winter comes up most often in our conversations. Why? Because it's the closest place from Europe where time slows down and the sun has a completely different, restorative power. It's where we look for grounding when February in Poland starts to weigh us down with grey.

For us at Marai, Tenerife is a special place. The rawness of the volcanic landscape and the power of the Teide volcano became the direct inspiration for one of our most important collections.

The TEIDE collection wasn't created at a desk. It was created from a fascination with:
🌋 Cooled lava — whose irregular, raw forms we captured in silver and gold.
🌊 Dark sand — a reminder that beauty doesn't always have to be perfectly smooth.
🌬️ The force of nature — which doesn't change, no matter what's happening around it.

We know not everyone can pack a suitcase right now and fly to the Canary Islands. So when designing the jewelry from this line, we thought of it as personal talismans.

When you touch the irregular, organic surface of a ring or earring from the Teide collection, you have a piece of that volcanic energy under your fingertips. Your small, sensory link to nature and the sun, that you can wear close to you even on the coldest, deskbound day.

We believe jewelry should be more than an ornament. It should be an anchor — a reminder of the places and moments where we feel free.
